Web 3.0 sounds more and more like what 2.0 was supposed to be. Maybe when the 2.0 thing was envisioned we really did not have the FB gorilla, and I must admit that while it seems obvious now, it was a much needed hootinanny. What I see with ipv6 is better integration between my phone, laptop and my online accounts. Right now we use gotomypc and stuff but with google docs and SaaS development our home pc will be replaced by our personal network of services.

Web 3.0 is something called the Semantic Web, a term coined by Tim Berners-Lee, the man who invented the (first) World Wide Web. In essence, the Semantic Web is a place where machines can read Web pages much as we humans read them, a place where search engines and software agents can better troll the Net and find what we're looking for.

I am still trying to grasp all that 2.0 offers, hopefully I'll have five to ten years before 3.0 blows my mind.
